Research projects are often available for undergraduate students who wish to gain experience with applied statistical methods. Potential undergraduates from various field of study are encouraged to contact us, since individual projects may be conceived in order to suit your personal interests and abilities. Most interns come through the University of Sherbrooke’s COOP program. Past undergraduate interns have had backgrounds in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Ecology, Physics, and Pharmacology.
An undergraduate internship with me is demanding. In 3-4 months, you will learn (a) to program comfortably in the statistical programming language R; (b) the basics of how to manage complex, real-world data; (c) how to apply many statistical methods.
